I have always beeen impatient. This makes my dovetails not fit well and leaves gaps in glued up boards and has followed me to sanding on the lathe (or off ).
I was wondering if it would be possible to remove shellawax? Does eee do that?(dont have it but its in the mail)
I made some sanding disks the other day and they would get rid of the few little marks that were left when I applied the shellawax.

Also, when sanding with disks in a drill, low speed or high? My good drill has high speed but I bought an el cheapo for sanding thats not as quick.

Thanks for any help

You could remove the surface stuff with meths and steel wool or Scotchbrite, and then sand on slow speed to get below the finished wood.

Don't use steel wool if the wood was turned green or it has any cracks or voids.

Or you could return it.

What kind of timber is it btw?
