I've just got a commission for a set of cufflinks, but not having made these before wondered if anyone could give any advice or point me in the right direction for information resources please? :D

Cheers, Chrome

Chrome, I've never made cuff-links but I do have a pair. I've seen the bases for sale and a quick look in e-bay brings me to this,

Cuff-Link Base (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-Silver-Tone-Cabochon-Setting-Cuff-Links-26x14mm-Fit-12mm-/360469791869?pt=UK_Crafts_JewelleryMaking_GL&hash=item53edac847d). Okay, so I'm in the UK but these come from China (doesn't everything these days) so I'm guessing you can get them from your e-Bay site.

The reason I'm posting is the pair I bought showed me that they are best turned showing the end grain. So a spindle turned cylinder and then each is cut off and polished.

Oop's - just looked again, you're here in the UK as well.

So the link is good for you.
