Has anyone had any experience with the 12 inch Carbatec saw (KS12K)?

A small local timber yard has one; they seem to be happy with it.

I think that this may have been the model though that had some posts on the forum about inaccuracies.

Thanks for the that Bob, seems to be a mixed opinion on the saw with the splitter causing the most concern. Are you still using the saw or have you upgraded?

Be very wary of the KS12. In addition to what was discussed in the thread that BobR has posted above this saw is not terribly stable and can easily be tipped over which makes it quite dangerous. The problems with the splitter are only minor compared to everything else. Think long and hard before you commit to this saw, if Carba-tec have one on the floor, play with it at length and if there is one there at a special bargain price it might be the one I gave back!

Cheers Peter, after receiving this feedback and searching through the forum I am leaning towards paying a bit etra and getting a 10" Jet saw. Might have to wait a bit longer but may well be worth it.

Thanks again

I don't disagree with that, convincing the Minister for Finances is another thing all together!

Try grovelling, sucking up, crawling, and if all else fails, cry. Works for me. :D
