movement of the wood

Hi guys. I have a question to make.
How can I prevent a wood circular table top, made with different wood slices, to bend in different directions due to the heat or moisture in the air? is there necessary to add some metal plate to hold in place all the wood pieces in case of movement?

I found on google an example of tabletop made with slices.
