There can't be too many new (as in unopened box) MK3s around, but I have one! Since I am currently doing a bit of sawing to fit out cupboards in a new renovation I kept thinking how handy it would be to have a table saw or something. I recalled that years ago my dad bought a Triton workbench (must have been in the 80s), but never put it together. I am sure I could have used it occasionally over the years but I didn't for some unknown reason. I wasn't sure what happened to it, did Dad sell it or give it away? So last Friday I went to my Dad's place and looked for it in the garage. It was right where I thought it might be, wedged in between two big wooden crates. Fortunately it was sitting on some downpipe, not directly on the floor where it would have rotted away. An unexpected bonus was a folding stand I spotted in the adjacent crate, exactly what I need for my rather compact home. Dad didn't even remember having bought it! I'll open it up this week when I get some spare time so I can have it ready for the weekend. Just wish I had looked for it earlier when it could have saved me more time in trying to cut straight.
