From a plan in "Woodcraft" magazine, Dec/Jan 2012. Unusually for me, I have stuck to the plan except I've added another drawer and thin stretchers to tie the columns together at the bottom.
Timbers are Blackwood and Huon Pine. The Blackwood is from Ravensbourne near Toowoomba, a flitch I got in a swap with Reeves a few years ago.
300H x 350W x 240D.
For a granddaughter whose Birthday is next week. Again, unusually for me, I finished the present before the event.

That is beautiful.

You'll have one very please Granddaughter. Better yet, you'll be able to buy her something every birthday/Christmas to help fill it.

I like it, Brian - something different, & nicely executed!

Yes, I usually treat someone else's plans as just a good starting point, too... :U

A beautiful chest, looks amazing. Love the drawer runners. And using an others pattern is a compliment.

Nicely done! Those runners and pulls are really cool. I like the contrasting timber too.

Making those pulls was just about the most time-consuming part of the job, but worth it for the effect.
Thanks Dragonfly, Ian, Glenn, Ray, Arthur and Pete for your words of encouragement.
It had been a while since I'd done a piece good enough to show here.
