Just a quick note on a recent purchase of a belt sander(about 6 weeks ago), which I use mostly every day.
Being Dutch I was intrinsicly charged with value for money as well as quality. It came down to a Hitachi and a Makita, both of which were 3" nominal sanders with the option of fitting a 4" belt.
I choose the AEG BS1100 4" belt sander and the only problem is hanging onto the thing, and is a little heavy after extended periods of time.
Price was an issue and the sander cost $299.00 which I feel represents good value.
