Hi all, The abstracts that nature produces so effortlessly in a piece of wood, would take Picasso a month of Sundays.
I love finding what's inside a piece of wood. This bowl measures 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" and is made of yellowbox, hope
you like it. Harry

Onya Harry, good stuff. I am thinking you would've needed to sharpen the tools a bit. THat Yellowbox can be hard stuff.

I would not know a Yellow Box teree if it fell on me, but wow, what a wonderful grain pattern. Is that normal for the wood or is it a burr (burl)?

Thanks for all your comments.
dr4g0nfly, the wood comes from the first 12 inches above the roots.

I have not as yet turned a piece of Yellow Box but in
the last couple of weeks I am impressed by the pics on
the Forum involving this wood.

Would you believe I have just been given a lovely piece
of Yellow Box Burl this week and can't wait to have a go
at it. It is still quite green but will rough it out and store
it for the future. Thanks to the Forumite who gave it to
me, sorry wont mention his name in case others pester
him for some of it.
