Hei Guys,
Last night I took my monster blank to my wood turning club and managed to get the use of a brand new Vicmarc 175 lathe. I also had a brand new Hamlett 1/2 inch bowl gouge that was getting its first serious play.
The combination was magic, I wasn't getting wood chips - I was getting lengths of very thin timber.
The Vicmarc seemed to stall easier that I thought it should but was as smooth as, and the hamlett gouge was effortless in the way it ate the timber.
That bowl is now put away for drying and I've got a few more blanks to play with.
Cheers
Paul
