Cliff, you have way too much time on your hands.
I don't know whether I'm gonna burst your bubble, or spoil the punch line but.........ah I won't. We'll see if there are others that might know, we'll see who chimes in.

Lots of people have had a go at that one.
I remember when Col Joy & the Joy Boys were touring in the '60s they had a character with them called Red Pepper & he did a version too.
Here are a couple more.

We're talking about reinvention, Beck's new album will have no audio, only sheet music. So anyone learning these songs won't have an original benchmarkas a starting point. They will most likely be all over the shop. Written notation is not the music, it's only a lifeless map. The interpretion is the music. I want to follow this as the audios start to come back. I'm keen to hear the different versions, it's like a science project.

Check out anything by a band called Me First and the Gimme Gimme's. They only do covers but all would come under the heading of re-invented songs. As for my contribution, I think you could call Adam Hills interpretation a re-invention :)
(I have no idea how to embed the video's so I'm trying two ways and will edit this post if one doesn't work :-)

I think the original of this is so well known I won't post a link to it. But I'm rather taken with the WWII Germanic stylings of Laibach's take on the entire album.
