Had my rave on the scrollsaw now its time for the sander.
I cannot recall the model number but this is essentially a copy of the Festool Rotex 150 which combines a rotary and random orbital sander.
I had a play and the damned thing was broken, ROS was working well but the rotary did not want to play the game and just stopped when applied to a piece of wood.
The reps refused to get out another one, great marketing strategy!!!
Anyway, ergonomically it is an awkward beast to hold, its a bit to large in diameter and even with my big paws I found it uncomfortable, the on off switch was small and appeared flimsy and the speed control was not easy to find. Tiny little dust extraction port on the side of the sander near the disc threw the whole unit off balance when a hose was attached and put a bit more strain on the wrist.
Overall I was not impressed and think Makita rushed into this one to try and get the Festool market...FAIL...
Its cheaper than the Festool, but for about $100.00 difference, I'll stick with my Festool Rotex thankyou..
