View Full Version : Cutlery Box, Carver

We had a cutlery set given to us for xmas, and the other half thought a nice wooden box instead of the cardboard one would look nicer.

This is the result, it is made from some old tassie oak boards (i think) l had in the shed. I am still looking for some thin foam to line the lid with.

Only kiddin mate, it looks very nice. What about a nice green or red felt lining for the inside rateher than foam?

beejay, l have some black felt for the lid but want to put a thin foam under it.

yes the joints did work first time on this box, but i did use up some scrap to get the saw and jig set right .

Nice work. Should get you some brownie points. The yellow cup give the image a nice touch :D .

The type of foam as used for mouse mats is good for lining boxes. It cuts to a nice clean edge and is durable without being too thick.

They sell it or something very similar in camping stores, as sleeping mats, it mostly come in bright colors though.

Nice work.
what's on the inside holding the cutlery up. Did you make an insert and if so, how do you get all the slots even :confused:
