I think it's Coolabah Root Burl. Was very hard and had a few big voids :(( Been working on and off on it for about 6 months. I couldnt fit it on my lathe so had to use a big one at the Club. Now sitting on the table in the Board room at work. :D247232247233247234247235247236247237

That's some hunk of wood, did you have to reinforce the table? (just kidding :U)

All I know about your Burls (burrs) is that they look stunning and this looks just as stunning as many I've seen in this forum.

Just How Big is it?

:o You got rid of the Cougar lathe :roll: or did you forget its a versatile lathe (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/outboard-rig-cougar-122328/)not just that it has a swivel head and if I am not mistaken headstock slides along the bed right to the other end if need be. You need an outrigger or a free standing Tool rest sure.

Bowl looks great Liam :2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

It is 375 dia 200mm high. Started off at about 25kg now about 5 kgs. Finished with hard burnishing oil.
Ray no it was too heavy and bounced my lathe all over the place. Had to use one of the club lathes that is bolted down and their 100mm jaws.
