View Full Version : Third mango bowl

This is the third lump of wood from under the house. Another piece of mango, but this one has no discoloration like the other two. In fact I thought it was a piece of maple to start with. There was a fair bit of insect damage on one side that decided the shape would be basically semi circular. It measures 340mm diameter and 100mm deep. Finished with two coats of sanding sealer and four coats of lacquer. Even turned not too bad, might even say I like it. :)

I like it too :2tsup:

Shame the fiddleback/feather grain on the bottom didn't show through to the inside :-

Hello Powderpost,
3 is enuff mango. Time to use a different specie and pass on any spare mango, eh.
Having said that - they are terrific. Drillit.

The fiddle back actually did show up on the inside, but it didn't show up in the photo.

Thanks every body for reminding me to look for the glue bottle, I really appreciate your concern. :q :D
