Whilst I am not Frank's number one fan, I liked this orchestral version of a song he made famous.

Another orchestral version of a popular tune I heard a long time ago was Tubular Bells, itself a favourite of mine, but not posted here :( .

My Way Andre Rieu on his violin in New York - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/embed/e-y581HdWfY?rel=0)

My inspiration for posting this was Grumpy John's love of music and his thread:

Enjoy :).

Unfortunately IMO Mr Rieu does to the violin what John Holmes did to ####.... I find his intonation lazy and he doesnt hit all of his notes in tune. No wonder he couldnt cut it in the classical world.

Rieu gets bagged because he is a populariser and entertainer. His music is not my cup of tea. I only wish my intonation was as good and I had his fiddle!

Johnny Gimble, the great Texas swing fiddler, had a stroke and his doctor told him to expect some memory loss. Sez Johnny " I hope it's the part that knows " Orange Blossom Special ".
