I'm getting a bit teed off with having to redo my picture frame mouldings several times to get dimensions within around half a mm. Those plastic fingers on my orange router table don't apply consistent or enough pressure when working with recycled hardwood. My machinery has to be 'portable' - or at least draggable, and has to fit into a small tin shed alongside my carport.
I've seen advertisements for the RouterMaster Workcentre - does anyone have any comments on this interesting-looking device?
Your advice would be appreciated...

Johnno,

I have an orange router table and found that the pressure fingers don't exact much pressure at all. I tried a couple of commercial featherboared I found in Timbecon's catalogue and fitted these as well as a taller fence. Presto, problem fixed as far as I am concerned. The featherboards cost me around $20 each and suit my purposes.

Cheers,
Ang

Have had a Router Master for many years and have found it to be a great thing. The latest model is very good, mine was one of the earlier ones built and was given to me for use in classes. It has had a pretty hard time of it and is still going strong even though it has been pinched by Doorstop.

The feather boards are however a much cheaper option and would also be handy on the Router Master. I'm not knocking the orange one but it isn't any where near as versatile as the Router Master. By the way beware of imitations. There was a copy floating around at one time but like most coppies it was a lot less substantial and no where near as good. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/mad.gif

Hope this is of some help.

Thanks Neil and Ang; I finally had a reply from YAS Engineering. The unit looks good, and would undoubtedly do more than I'm looking for, but at the price I can make a lot of my home-made fingerboards!
I guess I'll persevere with the orange table and my Hitachi TR12 until I get the right numbers in the right sequence... http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif
