Thought I'd throw this one in to get some differing viewpoints.

Your favourite tool(s)?? (perhaps a max of two or so)

Mine would have to be as follows, no particular order:
-Veritas wheel marking gauge.
-HNT Ironwood smoother.
The above two are both incredibly aesthetically pleasing and glorious to use.
-King 6000 water stone.
Just because i love the scary edge it puts on tools, including the two mentioned above.

Lets hear it.

Cheers, Tim

Tim

I agree with your choice of King waterstones. I have 800, 1200 and 6000 stones.

Favourite tools at this time are my Japanese chisels, LN bronze block plane, and my old (but well tuned) Stanley #3.

Regards

Derek

Yes, I think I'm actually drooling! Lie Nelson and japanese nomi, tools to be very proud of. Just please don't tell me the chisels are suminagashi steel otherwise I'll die of envy!!

Cheers, Tim

Favourite tools :

My Triton 2000 (at least until I save up enough for a Robland combo machine)

My Estwing hammer - with you on that one stoppers.

My el cheapo aluminium wood thickness gauge from carbatec (the kind that works like pincers, with the ruler part on an arc)

I guess at the moment MY favourite tools wood have to be, my small stanley plane (given to me as a 21st birthday present), and the spokeshave owned by my late grandfather.

Doorstop, TWO is the eastern states word for ONE MORE THAN ONE!

Just when you thought it was safe to post... A nice discussion on favourite tools, hijacked by a wedge shaped lump of wood and worse still.... a driver of a FORD!!

Favourite tools...hmmm
Japanese saws & chisels, Gordon plane and tiny clenton square...it would be the most-used tool in my workshop. Oh yes, and the marking gauge I made for myself.

My two favourite tools would have to be (1)my piece of square plastic ..and (2) 'Er Indoors piece of square plastic ..for when mine is smoulderin' http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif

Seriously I reckon in a power tool my Festo 150 Rotex, and secondly in a hand tool the set of clifton classic spokeshaves ...a beautifully balanced set ...and sooo nice to use.
