I would like to hear what tips all of you use the most. That would include those that you make as well as those you purchased. I have purchased some nichrome wire and am in the process of making me a couple pens and tips to go with them so any comments or pictures you may have would be helpful...

I am totally new to this but wanting to jump in with both feet!!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I bought my Peter Childs 'pen' several years after I had my Janic transformer unit and the only tips that I have ever used are made from the nichrome wire that came with the Janic kit. If I want a spoon tip then I turn it on full and using a big hammer as an anvil I bash the end flat.. All the rest is done with a plain wire tip. My bible is 'The Complete Pyrography" by Stephen Poole. A very good book and it gives exercises to do for the various textures, well worth buying..

John,
Thank you for the information and reference to the book!!

I have found some good information at a person's website (http://sunlionpyro.weebly.com/machines-pens-and-tips.html) in England. He has quite a bit of handy information as well.

Thanks again!!
