Good folk,
I've recently tested a 2nd hand Grundfos CH2 PC15 pump I'm looking to buy. When tested it a tiny amount of rust came out in the water in the test tub, as well as a few small pieces of green plastic (that looked like plastic drill swarf – probably from a tank it may have been connected to?). The owner claimed the pump was bought new and "unused apart from maybe tested once" and had been left unused and disconnect for a few years.
The unit looked in good nick from the outside and flow and pressure were good and the presscontrol seemed to work ok.
The question I have is the small amount of rust (or even the plastic pieces) indicate a problem? I thought the Grundfos CH are stainless construction so I didn't expect to see any rust...?
