Hi again folks, just wanted to share with you my latest bandsaw box. It is made from huon pine, the top section being a lot older, and the base being freshly milled. The handles are made from cedar.

This is the last project in the book that I referred to earlier, I think this is more of a "conversation/showpiece", than a trinket box. However you would still fit small items into the drawers.

Dunno why but when I look at your BSB it reminds me of something off Dr Who...
Very oraganic shapes, good work!

What blade do you use to cut such tight curves in thick wood?

Hey there Dave,

I am currently using a 1/8th blade, a very fine blade, not sure how many tpi, but quite a few. I just ordered a couple of 3/16th blades with 10 tpi, as I have broken a couple of my finer blades on some very thick sassafrass. And will see if this does the job any better.

Take it easy there,...!

Nice. Reminds me of a mother mongoose sitting back to back with a small mongoose. ( Would that be 'mongeese'? lol )

Hi Paul 49
I make bandsawn boxes here in New Zealand from Swamp Kauri and use a 13mm by 4tpi to cut off the backs and a 4mm by 6tpi for the internal cutting. I found that the 4mm by 10tpi heated up a bit in trying to exhaust the sawdust.

Great box Paul, I hope you don't mind if I borrow the idea. Keep up the good work.
