I have been asked to make some spinning wheel bobbins the sample is made up of 3 peices of timber, I chose Beech as I had some. so far ive bored the shaft with 7mm drill then made a mandrel and turned shaft to size with 15 mm pins on the ends and glued the discs on. 3 hours to get to this stage and 7 glued up. hurry up glue!!!!

I am watching with interest. not being sarcastic just glad I got 4 done before the rain and my glue dried..........now just waiting to apply finish

Hardest thing is drilling the hole I usually drill from both ends to be sure as run off often occurs. with the size shaft your using I do them on the pen mandrel. if different sizes I use a dead and live centre.

yes I drilled from both ends and a quick tidy up with the old chainsaw file! the teknatool multi centre is a handy addition to the shed, I'll finish them tomorrow and post some pics
