Hi Bruce, I have used e-go couries (online booking) a number of times to pick up items from Grays auctions. I have never had a problem and I consider them cheap. I try to limit it to smaller items, say 20-30kg or less as this is easier for them to pick up with one man but they will do larger items but obviously this would require a lot more organising. Haven't used a courier myself but I've quite often been engaged to pick up items which required a cranetruck. Just need to make sure you follow the guidelines outlined by Grays to allow third parties to collect the goods on your behalf.

I have used e-go a few times, for moving lathes etc. Never had a problem with them. If you can , use the e-go depot to depot service, it's so much cheaper than door to door delivery . They also offer door to depot , which is handy. They will store the item for 3 working days at their depot ... after which, you pay storage . What is important, is to ask or beg the seller to pack/secure the item correctly, some of the sellers don't give a toss and that's when breakages occur .

Thanks for the reply, That is what I would be needing, Grays auction is in NSW, Lidcombe, 2141 I am in Vic item would be max 20 Kg if that.

So do you have access to a crane truck, what about a pick up Bayswater to Vermont 1100 kgs, straight drive in Bayswater, slight incline Vermont, have had full size cement ag, no problems and large tilt slide to deliver 1600 kg lathe.

Yes I have a crane truck, can pick up 3000 kgs with the crane next to the truck or 1200 kgs at full extension which is about 6mts. Can pick up heavier loads upto about 4500 kgs but requires judicious handling and extra work to do it.

I have used Pack Send in Auburn to pick up stuff from Grays. Send them an email with a photo of the item and its weight and they will give you a quote.

I used them to pick up a Mitutoyo vernier protractor. I was worried that the lose parts in the box might scratch the magnifying glass so I asked him to cover it with sticky tape which was not a problem. Everything was individually wrapped in bubble wrap.

I can't recall how much the cost was but the service was very good.
