Had a crack at a segmented pen this weekend while waiting for the decal paper to arrive so I can complete a customer order. This one is silky oak and red mahogany, both milled locally. The separation lines are double thickness blue paper which I think works well with both these timber colours. I learned a few things that I would do differently, like where the tube ends relative to the joins in the segments. The blank was glued up with titebond III which soaked well into the paper. I chose the Elegant Beauty or Lucida kit, as it has more meat on the outside of the tube to the finished diameter compared to the Sierra's.

Yes, the colors work great together, and the blue acccent from the paper sets it all off quite well.
Excellent work all the way, from the kit choice to the wood selection and the fit & finish.
