Had a crack at a segmented pen this weekend while waiting for the decal paper to arrive so I can complete a customer order. This one is silky oak and red mahogany, both milled locally. The separation lines are double thickness blue paper which I think works well with both these timber colours. I learned a few things that I would do differently, like where the tube ends relative to the joins in the segments. The blank was glued up with titebond III which soaked well into the paper. I chose the Elegant Beauty or Lucida kit, as it has more meat on the outside of the tube to the finished diameter compared to the Sierra's.
