Does anyone have one of these? Well if you do - riddle me this!

How the hell do you set the damn thing up to drill the lourver door stiles?

No where can I find any information on this setup and do you think I can figure the thing out by myself! Its worse than a damn rubics cube. hahah... I should have got the video as well!!

Seriously though, I didn't pay attention at the demo at the WWW Show in Brisi thinking 'she'll be right mate' I'll be able to work it out..yeah right!

Anyway heres the website for anyone whos interested...

Ozzie Multi Jog (http://www.ozziejigs.com.au)

I havn't even put the thing through a rigorous test session yet as I have been too busy trying to figure the above out. And yet no doubt I will never even ever make lourver doors, but at least I know I have a jig that will help if the need arises (thats if I can figure it out http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif )

Cheers as always!

I think I saw the device from a distance, (I usualy keep a distance from sideshow sprukers) looked like some sort of implement of torture, http://www.ubeaut.biz/crying.gif or a two handed knuckle dustre for those with small fingers.
Is there an address on the box???
Perhaps you could ask someone to watch the demo at the next wood show and tell you how?? http://www.ubeaut.biz/chuckle2.gif

croud watching demo!!! http://www.ubeaut.biz/group.gif

THERE IS A VIDIO PRODUCED FOR THE JIG IT COST ABOUT $30 AND IS VERY WELL MADE.
THE WEB ADDRESS ON THE BOX IS www.ozziejigs.com.au (http://www.ozziejigs.com.au)
I HOPE THIS MAY HELP

Steve - Thanks for the info, but I already know all that. I have the web address in my original post.

Have you used the jig for the lourve setup? Thats all I am really interested in - every other setup is self explanatory.

Soundman & Coastie - Des ain't no spruker. Well not really. I will say that his demo left a lot to be desired this year. Very quick & un-informative compared to previous years where he has really given good demos and actually used the jig as opposed to just showing what its capable of.

Hell, it might just be easier to give Des a call I think....

Cheers guys!

I think i've just fallen in love! Finally put this thing to use & I gotta say it works great. Compared to every other dowel jig I have ever used (& thats most if not all of them on the market) this thing is quick, simple & accurate. I got the jig that does the 10mm holes as well and the one down side with this one is that there is only 3 x 10mm holes instead of six. But that ain't no concern of mine. Now if I can just figure out this lourve setup!! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/mad.gif

Cheers!

Sounds like this may be worth the ultimate gadget test.

If you are still using it in 12 months it ceases to be a gadget and becomes a tool.

Be sure to post before next T&WW if you are still using it then I'll buy one myself.

A good doweling jig is a real tool!!

A kind gentleman emailed this through to me during the week. With his permission I thought I would post it here for all to read.

The jig I got has 6x10mm holes and 6x8mm holes in each side, To set up this jig to do the louvre doors you pull the jig to bits and lay the two halves side by side with the two rows of small holes facing each other, The spacer bar that goes between the two halves goes on top with the out side hole of the spacer lined up with the first small hole, In the bag of bits and pieces their is two shorter bolts, use these to bolt it together, with the threaded bar across the back, you may need a washer or two so it will tighten up, once you have it together sit the jig on a bit of wood clear of the bench slide the jig down until the bars are sitting over the edge of the wood and the jig on the top, Now spread its legs apart to 45 deg each side and tighten up the bolts.

Cheers!
