Evening all, Jayson's turned a few pens but he's been bugging me for a while to have a go at a bowl. So I found this little bit of Camphor in my pile and let him have some fun. I was hands on a fair bit for this one but will let him have a bit more freedom with his next one. It's got one coat of Kunos Oil at the moment and will get at least two more before I post final pics.

Good job! It's always good to see kids learning something useful in the shop. And Jayson, that's a very nice first bowl. Nicely done.

Well done Jayson. What a terrific first bowl. Even used cole jaws to turn off the base! :2tsup: There are lots of turners who don't do that, but it makes such a difference to the end result. You should be very pleased with yourself:).
Congratulations, and I wish I had started at your age.
Cheers,

I agree, get him sniffing sawdust in the shed rather than
sniffing paint or glue in a back lane with some other kids.
Well done young fella.

He looks proud as anything with that bowl - well done.
Can't wait to get my granddaughter working on the lathe, just a few more hurdles and she'll be ready (solid food, standing, walking etc).
