Hi , Im not convinced the makita is iin securely enough.
Do you need any additional brackets to secure

Hotboost, how many brackets are you using? Why do you think you may need more?
I don't have a makita but I have never had problems securing a B&D with the four brackets and I have not fired up my brand new secondhand GMC ( I only use top quality, :o ) . Ensure that brackets are equally spaced and done up tight but not over tight.

hey Hotboost

I have a 3612 mounted in a triton series 2000 router table... not the new one.

The 4 brackets are ample. You'll find that 2 of the brackets clamp onto a flat surface on the base of the router and the other 2 onto a sloping face. Tighten the 2 onto the flat face first. I've painted a mark on the mounting plate and the router base so that it's lined up the same each time.

As Jon said don't overtighten them.
