hi guys
got a order sat morning to make a pen from a coworker , they wanted a CA finish on it but i avised as were out on the floor and dropping it and having customers to use it the finish may chip and crack so i used the hut ppp wax sticks she wanted arizona desert ironwood on a sierra

Another nice one Troy.

I actually prefer an oil and hut wax finish for my own user pen, feels better in the hand than the plasicky CA. They get better with age as well, not so with a shiny plastic finish which can only get worse.

Nicely done make looks good and I agree prefer natural feel on my timber ones

Nice pen, good choice of finish, I too prefer a natural finish.

That is a really nice pen, and in one of my favorite timbers. Too bad it smells like old dirt when you turn it.:rolleyes:


I also agree that the natural finishes feel better, and look more like wood. But a shiny CA finish seems to sell better.
