Nice work TL, but I think the finials are a bit too long.

Smart turning TL and great finishes!!!:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

How did u do the 'crowns' that join the lid and finial? You just turn a little dish shape and take the scollops out with a dremel.

Too long? :hmm: :pi: Maybe. They are still evolving. Perhaps the finial has to nestle down a bit more in the "crown".

Wow! You've come so far with your turning and design TL :2tsup: That Holly is nothing like the greyish stuff I got hold of  did you bleach it???

Wow! You've come so far with your turning and design TL :2tsup: That Holly is nothing like the greyish stuff I got hold of  did you bleach it???Some bits are grey. I think it gets blue stain very easy or something. :hmm: Vague memory of Dai sensei talking about spraying it with exit mold before storing. The bits I have are dirty grey on the outside. White inside though.

TL,

A good selection of boxes and the raindrop splash lids are great, just like looking at a stop frame photo. :2tsup:

I don't know, I seem to look at them and see the boxes as plinths for the finals. Maybe we are looking at the wrong star of the piece. Especially as we know TL loves her Finals.:)

P/S I am not a turner and don't know what I am talking about anyway.

TL,

A good selection of boxes and the raindrop splash lids are great, just like looking at a stop frame photo. :2tsup::Rain drop splashes? :hmm: They do look like that don't they. Wonder if I could do a "Ken Wraight" and turn a ball on the end of each point? .......

Don't think raindrops actually have the crown bit and the middle bit at the same time. But it is certainly a way I could go with them. Would look great next to my Tea drop shaped boxes too then. More of a coherent overall design story.
