This was a fairly ordinary piece of CL with not much heart wood. So a couple of coats of DO later it has darkened up nicely and makes a fairly respectable looking bowl

That is a very nice piece I like the spirals with the dark grain going though.

Camphor Laurel is a wood we don't get (well I don't) here in the UK, although we have a few types Laurels around.
It's good to see a use for the darkening effect of an oil on timber and to see it pop the grain so well.

Once the DO settles thats next, plus weather considerations. Although I kinda like the matt as well
