is this curly or fiddleback jarrha
Ihave quite a few boards of of this timber and would like to know what to call it if i decide to sell any
the first time i put a peice over the plane it looked as if it was corrougated and i had to touch it to check if it was flat and smooth which of course it was.
even with a bad finish it has an amazing depth.
i dont really know what to use it for to get the best from the timber
now to try and post the picture if i dont manage to post it here it can be viewed here http://www.msnusers.com/davidscheer/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=2i think its the first time for me

Hi David, does it really matter?. Its just great timber...but I'd call it curly, whatever. I have some at the moment with straighter grain and its almost purple in colour. Great stuff, make something nice.

Cheers

Isn't 'curly' the yank term for 'fiddleback'.

Personally I'd call it "Bloody Nice" Jarra. :D
