You wouldnt read about it.
I was happily polishing the back of a #5 blade last night,. Now I've been working wit 1/4inch blades for a while and wasnt used to the thin stanley ones which can heat up if you shapren them dry. Needless to say I was moving that blade across the 800paper really fast and pressing down on it really really really hard at the edge.
Next thing I know I feel a sharp pain in my right index finger and sure enough, I've got a painfull blister there combined with a decent burn where the steel got a bit too hot. All happened in half a second.
ridiculous.
