After doing a reasonable job of turning some small salt n pepper grinders I bought some crush-grind inserts and set about turning ones as big as my 600mm bed length would allow. I had drawn up a plan and although the actual salt grinder is only slightly different to the plan, it did get some interesting comments from my partner's 20+ year old daughters. It is jacaranda and 400mm (16") high. I am also going to turn the pepper grinder out of a darker wood but am wondering which will get the most use :):)

Yes, it needs some ripples and grooves to give a better grip. The Wagner texturing tool, available from Vermec, would be good for that. :U

I am wondering if there is an untapped market, although I am not sure what sort of retail outlet they would be sold in :wink:
