Im New to all this and wanted to start with something easy what kind of wood can be used for Chopsticks as ive been told not to use Toxic wood ? (whats that?) :doh: does any one have advice?

Split bamboo and a pen knife will make good chopsticks. If you want to use a lathe, first watch 's safety videos,

get some lessons, join a club. Start safe and stay safe.

I too recommend joining a club. Chopsticks may appear easy, and are easy once you have mastered the skew, but not something I would give to a beginner due to their slenderness.

Do you need a rolling pin, or timber mallet, both good for the beginners.

No chop sticks ain't easy. Start with a rolling pin. Or 10. :D

It was a good idea, putting your town in, as a lot don't, then we can offer you some help.
Had a look to see your area, for a Club, & Sunbury is the closest. 16mins away. Mulga Bill goes there, so he might see this & reply.
