Wanted timber veneer supplier in Australia. I am a hobbyist, not after a huge amount, just want some interesting, exotic? timbers for inlay in woodwork projects. There used to be a company that I cant remember their name. They had a web site that had a huge range and they seem to have closed down, because I cant find them anymore.

Harry,

there's a Tas govt web site where you can request a free sample swatch of Tassie timber veneers.

Trend Timbers (Windsor NSW) have a good reputation and a good range, and send all over Aust.

Cheers,
Andrew

Try Gunns Veneers (http://www.gunnsveneers.com.au/index.php) (in the woodcrafts section). I've got an idea that any veneer packs from other sources probably come from Gunns anyway. Could be wrong though. :)

Harry, you can also checkout:

Peter Scott Young
(03) 9870 8733

He's a fantastic guy to deal with, he also sells wood/veneer sample packs, which are a great way to start and get a feel for some of the options available.

DanHi DanP, I have some small quantities of veneers and when I sell them I post it in buy, sell and swap, just not really selling any at the moment.

What about the new Australian Woodpeckers dealer. I bought some gear from them a while back, good service and worth supporting.

They advertise veneers on their website: http://www.woodpeckers.com.au/category23_1.htm, the exploratory pack starts at $27.50
