Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen
Last few weeks I have turned heaps of bowls and platters and things. The WA wood show yesterday, bought some bits and bobs, an Arbortech Mini grinder to complement my other things, some abrasives and goodies from McJing. I have also finished these items
All are finished in Danish Oil. The first platter is very large at 45cm. Most are Jarrah Burl, Jarrah and a Blackbutt Burl platter and the sheoak candle holder. The large platter with the crack in the centre is Salmon Gum (40cm). Crikeys it was hard.
Cheers
Willy

Nice work on all pieces Willy!!

The finish id great!!!:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

I have often wondered if pieces like those that show cracks will
eventual split far enough to self destruct.

Hello Willy Nelson,
Very nice series. With the DO did you wet sand in the first coat?

No, I don't believe they will crack any further, unless exposed to extremes of humity, heat etc. I do stabilise the cracks with CA glue if I thinkit may be of concern, especially while I am turning it.
