Here is a lamp I turned from a piece of camphor. It was sanded to 600 grit and then EEE and Shellawax cream.

I hope you like it. It was my first attempt at a lamp. Any advice on design or other tips would be really appreciated.
The hole in the side for the cable at the base of the lamp was made using a Dremel tool. Cord held in place with hot melt glue.

looks good! I wouldn't glue the cord in just in case it needs rewiring, also there is a safety test for stability. take a board and sit on bench place lamp on board and slowly lift and if you can get to 15 degrees off flat before the lamp tips 9over it's safe! it's a good idea to have some one catch it!
it's something to do with safety in some countries! most of my lamps are bottom heavy so if it was to get knocked over and break they must be playing rough in side!
