MAKE | Remarkably Wee Tool Chest (http://makezine.com/2012/11/01/remarkably-wee-tool-chest/)
Christos 13th September 2013, 07:45 PM I like the tool box. Why could they not make this on the land of the giants?
DSEL74 14th September 2013, 11:01 AM I don't think he is making miniature tools anymore he now makes miniature historic guns.
Hermit 14th September 2013, 12:14 PM My God - you'd need those tools to make the chest. Fantastic work. (Perfect size to fit under the bonnet of my scale model VW.)
And where would one buy a lock that small?
pmcgee 14th September 2013, 04:27 PM Ya .. try sharpening that saw ... ! :)

160 tpi! :o
Only way I can think of to make teeth that tiny is to drag the saw cross-wise over a coarse diamond stone, & call the scratches teeth.. :U
I'd like to know how he did it (just out of curiosity - there is absolutely no way I would ever try to emulate that feat!). I have made a couple of small saws with 25 tpi, and sharpened a small slitting saw with about 28-30tpi, and it takes intense concentration, even with a 5x lens on my head-loupe - blink, & you've lost which tooth you are on.
Cheers,
Drillit 16th September 2013, 09:30 AM Hello pmmcgee,

I believe he uses some sort of serrated hobby knife blades for the saw so he doesn't do the teeth himself. Smart man!
