Hi all,
I turned this small southern silky oak bowl simple lines what do you think. The bowl is 150 dia. x 80 h.

The internal diameter seems a little narrow compared to the external diameter. That will give it a low-down CofG, was the vase designed to hold anything special?

Hi dr4g0nfly,
You are correct the bowl gets thicker to the bottom in wall thickness for the last 30mm (above this it is an even 6mm thick) I was wanting to make sure the bowl would balance being wide with a considerably smaller foot but I now think it will be fine without this and will probably re-turn it to reduce this. Thank you for your comment.
Regards Rod.

No please don't because I mentioned it. I like to hide weight in the base of my vases as well and it's your design.

Can you put something in the bottom as a surprise, a coin or some-such.
