Can you guess what I made this to do ???
I will give you till tomorrow and then I'll tell. All the clues you need are in the title:wink:

Is it a cross slide stop?

The angle iron looks like it would ride on the ways but the cutout looks like it would fit over the acme screw for the cross slide. That and you said 'slid out' not slid across.

It's a critical part that holds helicopter blades on, obviously made in India!

Ok the second pic is to show on what machine this has happened.


The first photo shows the pesky Gib that decided it wanted to go for a walk during the middle of a job.


And the third pic shows just how much room I don't have to work in, Being jammed in between too milling machines and a lathe.
Tomorrow when time permits I will start the explanation on the why's and how's.

I can now post my results.
