Saw one of these (similar to "Grand Vortex") at the AAW Symposium in Tampa last June. The pictures don't do it justice. Segments are both radial and tangential, at different parts of the rings. Extraordinary planning and execution.

His work drew a lot of attention at the AAW's symposium's. Brilliant display of visionary joinery & turning techniques.
