paperclip business card holder kits?

Hey everyone,

Found this on the net and was wondering if anyone knows a supplier in Australia for this or something similar?
Is it something that is glued in directly to the timber (like cutlery blanks are)?

From the look of the bottom of the hardware, it seems like it might be more like a keyring kit which fits into a brass (pen) tube, meaning turning the timber on a mandrel like a pen.
