small lidded box 3.5" in diameter 2.5"tall. This is my first time turning burl, love how it comes off the tool, also this my first lidded box :) .288801288804288805288806288807

Very nicely done. A simple flowing form suits that burl
It's not always easy to get it just right but I think you have.

Don't mind at all!! I need all the advice I can get! have never done any finial turning, might give it a go!

I like it just as it is. The figure in the timber is enough to give interest. It has a pleasing shape.
On the next one you might try a knob.
As much as I admire the skill in making finials, I do not like them.
My taste runs to bigger things. The smallest I make are tool handles only slightly smaller than my wrist.
