Saw Striping

Anyone know where to get some plastic stripping that you can slide over the edges of your hand saws to protect the teeth??

Or what it's actual intended purpose / industry is??

I've been using plastic poster hanging strips. Think I bought them from Big W or Kmart. They're used to put on the edges of posters so you can hang them from a hook.

I'd like to find something off the shelf, without slitting, as I never get it straight and would want something small.

Just looked at it. 5mm x 10mm is about right. Fits snugly on the saw and can be cut to length with scissors. Similar to this (without the string)

I use electrical conduit. Use a hacksaw blade to cut the slit.

I think the ones in your pic are Slide binder bars (https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Slide+Binding+Bars&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=rcs&gws_rd=cr&ei=psdZUq_kEs-ZlQW0koA4). Office supplies places stock them in A4 size but I don't know where the saw places buy by the meter.

It would appear that the slide bars are the same thing as the poster hangers at kmart etc.
