Some one gave me a rose to transplant and I'm afraid it died:((
"Waist not want not" I said and turned the root ball (about 300mm diam.). into a bowl Very nice grain and colour variation. Any one else tried to turn some. I was surprized to find it was solid right through. I expected a lot of pith but none. The finished article is about 150mm diam.

A very nice bowl. It has a ugly charm to it.
As a kid we used wild dog rose stem to make archery bows. There are a lot of surprise woods out there.

I am guessing you turned this very slowly.
