My old triton Saw TRA001A has a damaged commutator that is causing unnecessary sparking when in use.
Have enquired about at replacement armature but this appears to be prohibitively expensive (over $160).

Hence I'm sending out the request if anyone has a spare armature or damaged saw with good armature
that they wish to dispose of at a reasonable price.

Not sure of any other options without going the full expense of a new saw (approx $350) given all other
components on my saw are in a reasonable condition.

Thanks

Will ordering from UK be a bit cheaper? Tool Spares Online. ARMATURE (http://www.toolsparesonline.com/products/6932-armature-240v.aspx)
I used them, they are good.

You say the commutator is damaged. Is it just out of round or grooved from wear?
If that is all that is wrong you could get someone to machine it true again and fit a new set of brushes.

Unfortunately the commutator has had a complete segment removed (found the missing twisted copper piece upon dismantling
the saw). This gap in the commutator is clearly causing the large amount of sparking. Other than that all other segments are ok and
the commutator is round but required a clean to remove the carbon deposits..:C
