Hi all.

Im now in the market for a triton router to mount under my table but i'm a little confused.

Had a quick scout around on the net and see there is a TRA-001 and a TRB-001 on a couple of ebay shops and Carbatec sell a TRA-001B. What gives???

On the forum here it seems the only difference between TRA-001 and TRB-001 is the collet, push button instead of a twist winder and a revision to the on/off switch.

But on ebay one seller lists the TRA at 2400w and another the TRB at 2000w. (both at around the $350-360 mark). Carbatec sell the TRA-001B (2400w) for $439 plus shipping.

Can someone please clarify the differences and if one is a better buy than the other?

Thanks in advance.

Steven.

I had this info from an earlier thread here (http://www.woodworkforums.com/f15/triton-model-confusion-66226/):

TRA001 is the Australian version - 2400W 240W
TRB001 is the UK version - 2000W (or 2200W depending on which product sheet you read)
TRC001 is the US/Canadian version - 15Amp 3 1/4HP (not sure the wattage)

For what it's worth, the router I bought less than 12 months ago has the TRB001 model number.
EDIT: Seems it was more like 2 years ago that I bouhgt my Triton.

Thanks all for the information.

I did a search on the forum and read the post mentioned above but just wanted clarification as there was different information in different places regarding power ratings and product updates.

Thanks again.

Steven.

Even more confusing...

On another forum, one Aussie member has a TSA001 and TRS001.

The company that owns Triton (Powerbox International) may be licensing off some manufacturing rights.

:?:?:?

I have not seen a TSA001 or TRS001 before.
