I need some assistance/advice on a Triton router bit.
I have the Triton router boxed set RBA320. But I am missing the roundimg over bit RBA346.
Does anyone know where there is areputable aupplier to replace.it. I am waiting for Carbatec to reply to my query....
Or does anyone know of an equivalent manufacturer replacement?
I'll resort to a "want to buy" add in the for sale, but am hopeful of some help here first

Thanks in advance.

In order of superiority.....

CMT.
Freud.
Diablo.
Trend.
Carbitool.
Linbide.

Any of these brands are at least as good as the Triton, the top two are the best in the world and to be frank if you want a roundover bit you'll use again and again those two brands can't be touched.

The last two are homegrown; carbitool is Oz, Linbide is Kiwi.

To be fair, the difference between a CMT roundover bit and a Linbide isn't very much; the CMT gives a better finish and will last longer and will cost twice as much; but the difference between a Linbide and no-name hardware store special is phenomenal.

Lyle, there is a reasonable chance that set of router bits was manufactured by Carbitool in Moorabbin (Melbourne) for Triton.

I have the same Triton Roiuter bit kit RBA 320 and I eventually wore out my 346 router bit, along the way the bearing also came loose and not too flash when I accidentally slid a steel bar across the router table when the bit was just proud of the table.

A quick trip to Carbitool, they are about 6 minutes from my place, with the bit in my hot little hand. The fella at the counter/desk took one look, asked if it was a Triton part, to which I replied, "yep". He gave me two options, a mid range product or a top range product with accordingly different pricing.

This was about 3 years ago and as I purchased a few other router bits, I could not tell you the cost, except to say the one which was the replacement, looked completely identical to the Triton one.

If you telephone them, I'm sure they will know what exactly it is and will be able to give you an instant price, just check though that it includes GST as essentially they are a manufacturer wholesaler.

CARB I TOOL Australia Pty Ltd.:.Sharpening services, Saw Blades, Router Bits - Catalogue (http://www.carbitool.com.au/catalogue.html)

If you require a local to pick up and forward somehow, not a problem, I go past them about once a week and if I have an excuse to drop in........ :D
