desk restoration leather desk insert.

Im restoring a desk that had a leather insert on the top.
Im looking for a leather source in Sydney and and tip on glue or fixing leather to wood top.
I like the idea of some gold lines or such on the leather around and a bit in from the edge
any tips appreciated.
