Hi all, somewhere recently i came across an ad for installing a table height adjuster, ie the the toothed rod from base to motor and the winder assembly for the table. At the time i did not need it, now i do and cant remember who sold them any ideas gratefully accepted.
Regards
Rex.

Don't know where you can get the toothed one, but in the Aust. Woodworker, and on demo at the Sydney WW show, there was an alternative which looked pretty good to me....

For $60-ish, you get a weight which runs inside the drill press column, and a couple of pulleys, and some steel wire to connect the table to the counterweight.

The weight acts as a counterbalance to the table, so you don't need to laboriously wind it up and down, just release the lock, and slide the table up or down by hand.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks AndrewI had thought of some sort of external pulley and weight but your idea seems better if i cant find the winder type.
