Hi all, does anyone have any info on this sort of router lathe? A mate bought it at garage sale for $30.
I have looked on line and didn't find much info on it it looks to be all there?!
I'm keen to have a play with it and know there will be trial and error but seeking information on it before I butcher to much timber
It has a basic indexing head and seems to travel along the bars ok, the cable has lost most of it plastic coating!
Thanks in advance!

My guess is that you mount a router on the lathe. What type of router I can not say. How the indexing is determined can not say.

What I might suggest is to mount a round piece between center. Then mount a flat piece on the router plate, in the middle of that drill a hole to mount a pencil. Then have a play to see what is drawn on the wood.

Looks similar to the one trend used to make

Another generic version

Thanks for the links
pretty much sorted! Will make some designs to fit the machine, maybe some columns with reeds or flutes, it's going to be a handy tool in the shed saving time making jigs. Will need to get a couple of router bits and push my luck for another router!

I have this same jig, but when I purchased it, was lucky enough to include all the paperwork, which included some plans and ideas.... They are larger than a4 so can't just do a quick copy of them, but I can give the scanner a work out if you do want any more info. The pages are fairly well worn (I got it secondary) but I'm sure I could get something useful to you.

All good, It only took me 20 mins, and it means I can acutally give back to you blokes that are always willing to help out someone like myself (more questions than answers usually)

The only issue I have is it is about 30 meg of material (must have had the dpi set a little high) so I'm not sure of the best way to get it to you. I will try uploading it to my files.....ERROR.....

Damn, ok, file is too big...

just tried emailing it to myself.... apparently that is too large as well... GRRRR... can't compress it anymore... I tried that too......

any ideas?

Dropbox? (https://www.dropbox.com/)

Alternatively, 'TransferBigFiles': https://www.transferbigfiles.com/
You don't need to join for files up to 100MB. Ignore the 'Create an account' etc and just add your files, then follow the prompts.

Ok, I have installed dropbox, and uploaded it onto there. I hope you have access to it, if not then we can work on another solution (Even if that involves me getting a stick and snailmailing it to you!!) I guess you need to PM me some details on dropbox? anyhoo.....hope we can sort it out for you

Thanks Skew ChiDAMN!! and Hermit for the thoughts.....

Cheers
